The [001] BaTiO₃ / SrTiO₃ template is used to produce highly orientated textured ceramics, because of their use as template seeds in the templated grain growth (TGG) process.

Matrix grains grew epitaxially on the templates and resulted in textured ceramics after thermal

treatment. The characters of the template particles are critical factors to the final product.
