Uniaxially oriented PVDF homopolymer film with thickness from 5 um to 20 um. High dielectric constant >12, High Dielectric Breakdown Strength > 500 MV/m. Great for high energy density film capacitors, electrostatic film, and piezo film.
PVDF has dielectric constant about 12, 20% higher than PVDF-HFP. The Young's modulus of PVDF is also significantly higher than PVDF-HFP.
The uniaxial orientation significantly improves the dielectric breakdown strength (energy density) and reduced the leakage current and energy loss. It also increases the tensile strength and Young's modulus.
For electrostatic actuators, electrostatic adhesive, electrostatic brake, electrostatic haptics, etc. As the electrostatic force is proportional to the dielectric constant, and reversly proportional to the square of the thickness, this film can generte quite high electrostatic force even at low electric voltage.
For example, for 5 um thick film, at 500 V (100 V/um), the electrostatic force can be >110 N (11 kg) per square cm.
This film is NOT poled and it is non-piezoelectric.
