Product Description
This is the PVDF piezo sensor that can be used as vibration/pressure sensor or energy harvesting.
It is produced with PolyK high performance 110 um thick PVDF piezo film, capacitance about 9.5 nF. Dimension 76.2 mm wide x 152.4 mm long. With rivet-wires that can be used for connection to external circuits.
This sensor does NOT have passive backing layer. To produce bending sensor and energy harvesting, it is recommended to attach 120 um or thicker tape as backing layer such that the entire thickness of PVDF is either completely under compression or completely under extension during bending and vibration.
Please note: the d31 direction of this sensor is parallel to the short dimension as shown in the figure.
You can connect multi pieces in parallel or series, even using double-sided tape.
Output is > 150 V from simple vibration.
It can also be used as a heavy duty pressure sensor.
Made with PolyK piezo PVDF film with high d31. The 200 um thick piezo film with silver electrode is a good material for energy harvesting due to its mechanical robustness and high output voltage: http://piezopvdf.com/pvdf-piezoelectric-film-120-um-thick-silver-ink/
